Wychavon District Council is inviting Quotes from potential suppliers for provision of a money and debt advice service. There is currently insufficient capacity/provision within the district in terms of money advice services and this means that customers who are referred or approach directly to the housing service may have to wait when they need more urgent advice. The increase in customer demand for this type of service can be partly attributed to welfare reforms and increasing housing costs locally. The rollout of Universal Credit will bring further challenges as housing costs will be paid direct to the claimant, monthly in arrears It is therefore proposed to base a Money Adviser in the Wychavon Housing Service who will offer appointments and/or drop-in service across the district.
