Tender description
Derby City Council, in its capacity as the Authorising Body under the terms of the Mental Health Act 2007 Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), has a legal duty to protect people in care homes and hospitals, where a provider has identified deprivation and wishes to apply to the Local Authority for authorisation. The Council is inviting tenders for the provision of a service to ensure Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, part of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The Council wishes to secure a service provision for Best Interest Assessors (BIA) (Lot 1) and Section 12 Approved Doctors (Lot 2). Work packages within each Lot will be issued on a strict rotation basis. Providers may bid for one or both Lots if they have the resources meet the requirements of those Lots.
