One of the Council’s priorities is to support & enable the people of Bury to take ownership of their own health, wellbeing and lifestyle choices. Bury Council aims to be the Healthiest Borough in the North West by 2020. In addition to assist the workforces in Bury in making a behaviour change to a healthier lifestyle, the Council wishes to purchase up to 1000 wearable technology fitness wristbands. The devices will be used by organisations based in Bury and would enable the organisations to organise and roll out collective challenges across workforces, encouraging employees who are participating to become more physically active.
