The London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) is proposing to hold a Supplier Briefing Session on 8th and 23rd February 2017. Supplier Briefing Session The Council intends on holding a supplier briefing session on: Date: 8th and 23rd February Time: 10-4pm Place: Mile End Ecology Centre The Purpose of this event is to inform the market of the Council's intent to re-tender the remote processing contract for Welfare payments and the processes and requirements that will need to be followed and met to tender for this opportunity. Supplementary Information: Interested Suppliers should note the following: Tower Hamlets is shifting its approach for funding for community cohesion projects, from grants to a commissioning approach using co-production. We now have 2 workshops lined up in which we will collectively discuss and agree what our local priorities for cohesion are and how these can best be delivered. The sessions will cover: what is cohesion - national views and discussion on the local issues within Tower Hamlets; and what initiatives can we develop in Tower Hamlets to improve cohesion. These will be: • Wednesday 8th February, 10am-4pm. Ted Cantle who is a cohesion expert will set the scene for community cohesion in Tower Hamlets; we will then discuss setting the priorities collectively. This will then be available for wider consultation (14th-17th February). • Thursday 23rd February, 10am-4pm. After the consultation period, information will be brought back by the Council for further comments and input. We will then discuss possible indicators for success. These sessions are designed for anyone who is part of, or is interested in working within local communities on projects around community cohesion. Cohesion can include linking people from different groups together - this can include across racial, age, faith, gender, sexuality and other groups. Both sessions will be held at the Mile End Ecology Pavilion. Places are limited (maximum 20), and we ask that only one person per organisation attend. Keywords: Community
