Who Speclialist Work With User researchers and content designers (as part of multidisciplinary digital delivery teams) plus the wider design community at HMLR and other government departments. What Specialists Work On (1) Provide input into the design of new and iterated HMLR digital services on GOV.UK (2) mentor and coach HMLR's existing designers Where the Work Takes Place Plymouth Early Market Engagement Working Arrangements Onsite minimum 4 days/week - travel expenses to be met from advertised rate Work Location Plymouth Security Clearance Basic clearance Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Experience of designing and iterating user-centred services that meet cross-government standards and patterns Ability to sketch and prototype effectively on paper and in HTML Experience of translating user research into actionable insights that remove complexity from services A design-related degree or significant relevant industry experience Nice to Haves Demonstrably active in the cross-govt design community; sharing and contributing to design patterns Experience representing digital services at service standard assessments Able to code beyond basic html/css; eg using GOV.UK prototyping kit to create hi-fidelity prototypes Experience of designing fully accessible and device-agnostic services No. of Specialists to Evaluate 6 Cultural Fit Criteria Focuses on meeting user needs to deliver organisational goals/policy intent Experience in coaching and/or mentoring less experienced designers Hands-on experience of working at pace on government digital services as part of a multidisciplinary agile team Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain ideas in a way that others understand Assessment Method Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 60% Cultural fit 20% Price 20% Questions from Suppliers Budget range £650
