INVITATION TO TENDER FOR THE COLLECTION & COMPOSTING OF GARDEN WASTE

Tender description

Dublin City Council, using open procurement procedures, invites tenders for the collection and processing of green garden waste. Green garden waste (hereinafter called green waste) is currently accepted from the general public at 5 Bring Centres across Dublin City. Green waste is placed in portable containers and portable compactors with compaction through three-phase power, all compactors and containers are the property of Dublin City Council and the successful tenderer will be held liable to any damage of these containers. When compactors/containers are full of green waste material, the current contractor collects the compactors and delivers the green waste material to a bulking up/transfer station or composting facility. The successful tenderer must carry out a similar practice i.e. when compactors/containers are full, collect the compactors/containers and deliver the green waste material to a bulking up/transfer station or composting facility. The five Bring Centres are: a) Gulistan Terrace, Rathmines, Dublin 6 – (1 portable container & 1 compactor) b) Windmill Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12 – (1 portable container & 1 compactor c) Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock, Dublin 5 – (1 portable container & 1 compactor) d) Collins Ave, Dublin 9 – (1 portable container & 1 compactor) e) Grangegorman, Upper Grangegorman Road, Dublin 7 – (1 container) Dublin City Council proposes to award a contract in Quarter 2, 2016, initially for a period for 24 months. It will then be subject to a review with the option to extend for a further 12 months subject to satisfactory performance.
