Cafes in Community Neighbourhood Centres (libraries)

Tender description

Newham Council is inviting proposals from suitable providers to operate a café provision at East Ham Community Neighbourhood Centre, 328 Barking Road, East Ham, London, E6 2RT and Canning Town Community Neighbourhood Centre, Rathbone Market, Barking Road, Canning Town, London, E16 1EH. 1.2 The contract period for this commission is 2 years, which includes a 1 year break clause, at the Council’s discretion. There is potential to extend either or both contracts for a further 12 months, at the Council’s sole discretion, taking the total maximum length of the commission to 3 years. The café at East Ham is scheduled to be complete by June 2017, with a proposed opening date of between June and August 2017. The café at Canning Town is scheduled to be complete by July 2017 at the latest, with a proposed opening date of September 2017. Therefore, the contract period for both cafes will be staged. Please note these dates are subject to change. The Council will provide both café spaces on a turnover rent basis.
