Who Speclialist Work With MOD Civil Servants, Military Personnel, Contractors What Specialists Work On Information Application Services (IAS) is a branch of Army Headquarters based in Andover, Hampshire. To achieve its mission, IAS provides IT application development on the Army’s Hosting Environment, and a limited number of web applications on a separate internet hosting environment. IAS has a portfolio of successful Oracle Apex, PHP, and .NET applications developed in-house that support Army branches and their business processes. At the core of this is the Army Data Warehouse, an Oracle DB as a central data repository providing reporting capabilities and data to the various applications. Where the Work Takes Place Army Headquarters, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 8HJ Early Market Engagement N/A Working Arrangements Place of delivery shall be on site at Army Headquarters, Andover. Army Headquarters normal working hours are Monday – Friday 0830 – 1700. Remote working acceptable. On rare occasions the specialist may be required to visit / work from other MOD locations. All specialists must successfully complete the Army HQ Induction Package; this basic package satisfies a range of administrative requirements such as, yet not limited to, health and safety; equality and diversity; and fire awareness. Specialists are to note this is a mandatory requirement. Work Location Army Headquarters, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 8HJ Security Clearance Security Cleared (SC) All incumbents should have the necessary security clearance to be able to access MOD premises and information up to SECRET – UK EYES ONLY; this is the DBS NSV SC level of vetting. Incumbents are to follow both the letter and spirit of Army Headquarters security regulations. Strong understanding of ETL/BI/Data Warehouse Projects. Proven experience in writing complex SQL queries. Have excellent knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g/12c and RAC. Experience & knowledge of using OWB, OBIEE, APEX Toad,SQL Developer , WinScp & Putty, MobaXterm. Previous experience of testing on Windows and Linux platforms. Ability to plan, schedule and execute various forms of testing. Demonstrable ability to develop, maintain clear and concise documentation to a high professional standard. Competency and proven ability in the use of HP ALM for complete test management of requirements, test cases, execution of tests, defect tracking and reporting. Experience in using test automation tools e.g. HP Mercury QTP/UFT/F#. Competency and proven ability in writing and executing test scripts/scenarios, as well as complex installation guides. The capacity and self-motivation required to meet the demands of the tight timelines and rapidly evolving priorities. Excellent communication and co-ordination skills. A proven ability to resolve problems from first principles as well as from experience. To be able to perform non-functional testing to a high standard without the need of technical direction. The ability to document technical work including their management using SharePoint and the service management tool, Remedy. Experience on Team City/TFS (Team Foundation Server) Experience in Agile software development process and a strong knowledge of testing. Nice to Haves ISEB Foundation/Practitioner Qualification. Experience of working within a defence environment and the ability to work autonomously. Collaboratively agree the test plans in line with the project based on business priorities. Have experience in scoping the types of testing and effort required to deploy each application. At least 7 years’ experience as a Test Analyst/Engineer. At least 5 years’ experience as a Data Warehouse Tester. Experience as a DBA is also desirable. No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria Work as a team within our organisation and other suppliers. Transparent & collaborative when making decisions. Has a no-blame culture and encourages people to learn from their mistakes. Previous experience of working within a Defence environment.
