Liverpool City Council has identified a need for two children’s homes located in Liverpool that will focus on addressing current presenting need of a complex group of young people aged 11-16. Analysis of this group has identified that good outcomes planning with young people will assist in them being effectively supported to be able to move on and return to their families, step down into foster care or move into independent living. This transition, preparation and moving on approach is intended to address the increasing demand that cannot be met by existing services and will focus upon planning from the beginning of the placement an exit strategy for each child so that there is a clear plan for the future and young people are not left in residential placements unnecessarily. Following a recent ‘soft market testing’ exercise (conducted via an open questionnaire published on Pro Contract), the Council is now hosting a face to face market engagement event on Thursday 12th October 2017, with an opportunity for interested providers to view the properties in advance. The timetable is as follows: Alder Road Site Visit, 42 Alder Road, L12 2AY: 12.30pm – 1.30pm Laurel Road Site Visit, 68 Laurel Road, L7 0LW:1.30pm – 2.30pm Presentation and Q&A (at Laurel Road): 2.30pm – 3.30pm Organisations wishing to book a place on the event should complete the booking form (available on Pro Contract) and upload it through the ‘discussions’ option on the portal.
