Tender description

The contract is with the Ministry of Justice operating through the HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) for the management, sourcing and delivery of 520 employment positions for prisoners within Workshops at HMP Berwyn. The contract is with the Ministry of Justice operating through the HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS). The services to be provided are for the management, sourcing and delivery of 520 employment positions for prisoners as part of the contractor's and its subcontractors' own economic operations. The employment positions will be delivered in four workshops (including 2 mezzanine areas) inside HMP Berwyn in North Wales. HMP Berwyn opened in February 2017 and is the largest prison in England and Wales and is the second largest prison in Europe. The contractor will provide commercially operated workshops which offer similar working conditions to those outside of the custodial environment and through which prisoners will obtain employability skills.
