The 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (the Centre) has recently won funding from the Local Growth Fund to provide equipment in support of the technology-based growth of regional businesses. As part of this, the Centre seeks the equipment to become the ‘regional centre of excellence’ for additive manufacture (AM). To enable this and building on our expertise with plastics selective laser sintering, we are looking to purchase a ‘primary’ metal AM platform and a ‘secondary’ machine, if the budget permits. We have also allowed for the purchase of a ‘tertiary’, AM machine working in plastics for use as part of a ‘proof of concept’ programme leading to metal AM. The ‘primary’, ‘secondary’ and ‘tertiary’ machines may be purchased separately or as part of a package.
