Tender description

AHDB currently source Foodservice data through a third party. The data monitors protein performance across the UK Foodservice industry. Access to this data allows AHDB to analyse the sector and the channels that make up Foodservice and monitor the performance of key sector-related products. The information is used, by AHDB to inform the industry on the latest trends and look at potential implications for AHDB sector-related products. The information is used at business meetings/presentations and also in the media in response to requests for market information/commentary. AHDB have spilt the Foodservice data procurement into Lots 1 and 2, the specification for both are the same with the main variant between the lots being shown below: Lot 1) Proposal to best meet AHDB ‘Core requirements’ specification within a budget of 48 000 GBP per annum; Lot 2) Proposal to best meet elements of AHDB ‘Additional requirements’ specification. The UK Foodservice sector is becoming increasingly important and of interest to our internal customers with the number of requests for information about the Foodservice sector growing as a result. In many cases, AHDB MI has been unable to fully address requests with our current information sources and services. AHDB currently source Foodservice data through a third party. Lot 1 and lot 2 — we shall only award to 1 supplier for one of these lots. Lot 1) Proposal to best meet AHDB ‘Core requirements’ specification Lot 2) Proposal to best meet elements of AHDB ‘Additional requirements’ specification The contract is for 3 years with the option to extend for a further 12 month period. There will be a break clause after each year for reviews on supplier performance, budget review and agendas. Lot 2) Proposal to best meet elements of AHDB ‘Additional requirements’ specification. No budget has been allocated. For Lot 2 AHDB are at this stage looking for an outline of how an agency propose to get to the measures required, in particular the volume estimate read. The volume read is a critical requirement, as there is strong industry need to get a measure of the split in sales between grocery retail and the Foodservice market. AHDB have developed an internal model/report that provides such a read at a total protein level using assumptions around portion size, based on FSA portion sizes and the size of the public sector AHDB are aware that measures such as volume may not be easily calculated and would therefore work closely with the nominated supplier to build a robust model for estimating such data over the course of the contract. Your proposal should clearly outline how much set-up and ongoing servicing time you estimate would be required to run, critically a volume but also a value report by yourselves at a total protein and at a cut and products level along with associated costs. Your proposal should also outline what level of AHDB support would be required in the set up process.
