WIFI Drawdown Agreement

Tender description

This RFQ is for the establishment of a drawdown agreement for the provision of a Wireless Network to Cork Education and Training Board and its centres. The initial requirement relates to Colaiste Choilm, Ballincollig being a second level school with a student population of 1400 and 120 teachers approx. We wish to replace the existing “convenience” wifi network consisting of 20 Netgear Access Points, Netgear Wireless Controller and 6 Cisco Access Points with a mission critical fit-for-purpose wifi network. The school will have in excess of 300 iPad users from September, with numbers expected to grow. These users will expect high quality access to internet in all areas of the school. The ability to roam will therefore be vital to the system which should allow for high density usage in all areas. The wireless network is required to ensure high quality access from mobile devices (Laptops, Netbooks, tablet pupil devices, smart phones, printers etc.) in the school to local and external cloud based resources. • Local Resources include local printers, servers etc. • External resources including internet, online services, email, video conferencing etc. Please note that this tender may form part of a drawdown agreement for other centres associated with the Cork ETB. Accordingly, you are asked to provide pricing and associated details for a range of controllers/AP’s etc. that will form part of this agreement. The drawdown agreement will be for a period of 3 years with an option to extend for a further year. We are also keen to ensure the scalability and suitability of the wireless solution to future requirements either within the school in question or in other locations. Accordingly, we are seeking pricing for 2 options: 1. Support IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n. 2. Support IEEE 802.11ac. This option must support 802.11 a/b/g/n and 802.11ac at install time and your proposal must indicate the configuration requirements etc. accordingly.
