Tender description

This ITT is for the second batch of ‘Use Case’ projects that, based on market analysis, will develop and demonstrate end-to-end applications (product, software or service) based on CAMS products. The objective of such projects is to stimulate innovative ideas and support the development of downstream applications. A first cohort of contracts are currently in progress and the present call aims at selecting new cases for continuing to bring about success stories of uptake of CAMS products and to spin-up sustainable businesses. The criteria for selection will be the innovative use of one or more CAMS products, the sustainability of the Application business plan, the potential for increasing the use of CAMS services and reaching out to wider communities, and the quality and value for money of the bids. Within this call, it is foreseen to award up to 6 contracts depending on the quality of the proposals with a total maximum budget of 500 000 EUR. The ceiling price for a single contract is set at 100 000 EUR. The proposed technical solution shall contain a technical description of the application, a business plan, as well as a description of the activities foreseen for the two phases of the project: — design and development phase (duration between 3 and 6 months); — market trial phase (duration between 12 and 24 months). In order to be eligible: — the proposal must cover a single Application (tenderers may submit other separate proposals covering other Applications); — the Application must make use of one or more CAMS products; There is no preferred geographical target for the Application, which could apply anywhere in the world. Considering the range of Applications selected from the CAMS_95/2016 ITT (Contract award notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union: OJ S: 2017/S 139-286791), new Applications making use of CAMS global line of products (daily analyses and forecasts; reanalysis; fire emissions; greenhouse gas fluxes and forecasts) are especially encouraged in order to widen the scope of the cohort of ‘Use Cases’ and benefit from significant communications potential in new areas.
