This procurement is for the provision and administration of Private Medical benefits in Transport for London (TfL): 1. TfL is looking to establish a 3 year contract with a possible 1 year extension for the provision and administration of Private Medical benefits in TfL. 2. There are currently c14,000 eligible employees and of these c7000 are currently in the scheme. 3. The Private Medical Scheme is operated by TfL as a Trust. Objectives: In line with the key ‘Value’ element of the TfL-wide transformation programme a key objective of our provision of Private Medical Benefit is the management of cost including cost reduction and / or mitigation of future increases to the cost of the scheme. As well as the provision of a highly efficient administration service with excellent standards of service delivery both TfL and the private medical benefit scheme members. Administration and service is extremely important to TfL. TfL’s chosen administrator needs to provide excellent service to both TfL and the private medical benefit scheme members. Given the size of the current and projected spend, TfL are keen to work with an administrator who can procure and manage medical treatment spend appropriately. Bidders should demonstrate that they can control costs effectively and work with TfL to manage claims spend. Given the size of TfL’s private medical benefit scheme, administrators must demonstrate their ability to manage the transition of the scheme effectively and seamlessly, with no disruption to TfL or the plan members.
