Night Sitting Service (Palliative Care)

Tender description

The Night Sitting Service is to deliver an End of Life Care i.e. health and social care for individuals who are approaching death. The service helps individuals to live as well as possible until they die, and to die with dignity. This service also includes support for their family and/or carers. End of life care includes palliative care. For the purpose of this specification care for "End of Life Stage of illness" is care that helps all those with advanced, progressive, incurable illnesses to live as well as possible until they die. It enables the supportive and palliative care needs of both patient and family to be identified and met throughout the last phase of life and into bereavement. It includes management of pain and other symptoms and provision of psychological, social, spiritual and practical support. This service is delivered only between 22:00 to 0700.
