Tender description

Provision of a Point of Care Managed Service covering a range of tests and services. NUH, on behalf of empath, is seeking a managed service partner for the provision of Point of Care Test services. The contract will initially be for the provision of Blood Glucose/Ketone tests and IT Connectivity. Over the contract period this will be expanded to include the following tests: — Urine Analysis; — INR; — Blood Gas; — Activated Clotting Time Meters; — HbA1C; — Cholesterol; — Haemoglobin; — Transcutaneous monitoring; — Platelet Function Monitoring; — Thromboelastometry; — Pregnancy tests; — HIV; — pH. And any further tests in haematology, coagulation, clinical chemistry, toxicology, immunology, molecular genetics, histology, cytology, microbiology and virology that can be added to the Point of Care portfolio to enhance the service The resulting contract will be open to any other member trust of empath across the East Midlands Region and in order to support the regional STP plans it is also anticipated that the contract may also be expanded to Community NHS Organisation. The contract value has been estimated based upon the assumption that this expansion of the service occurs during the contract period but in no way guarantees any level of business.
