Framework Agreement for the Supply & Maintenance of X-Ray Detection Technology with 6 Lots; Lot 1: Mobile Freight Scanner Lot 2: Freight Pallet Scanner Lot 3: Baggage Scanner (Belt) Lot 4: Baggage Scanner (Van) Lot 5: Baggage/Parcel Scanner. Mobile freight scanner The Authority requires a framework agreement for the supply & maintenance of Mobile X-Ray Freight Scanners to scan RoRo and containerised freight in pursuance of its remit to detect a range of illegal and controlled goods concealed within a wide variety of cargo, vehicles and shipping containers. The scanners must be mounted on a standard commercial rigid self-powered vehicle platform with automatic transmission, and be capable of being driven throughout the UK without special permissions and in full compliance with all relevant UK and EU Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations, including IRR 1999. The complete system will be expected to operate reliably for a period of ten (10) years, during which time scanning operations could be undertaken up to twenty four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. Freight pallet scanner The Authority requires a framework agreement for the supply & maintenance of single view X-ray scanners to scan palletised freight in pursuance of its remit to detect a range of illegal and controlled goods concealed within a wide variety of cargo. The system must be in full compliance with all relevant UK and EU regulations, including IRR 1999. The complete System will be expected to operate reliably for a period of ten (10) years, during which time scanning operations could be undertaken up to eight (8) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. Baggage scanner (for mounting on baggage belt or carousel) The Authority requires a framework agreement for the supply & maintenance of x-ray scanners to scan baggage travelling on baggage belts or carousels in pursuance of its remit to detect a range of illegal and controlled goods concealed within a wide variety of cargo. The System must be in full compliance with all relevant UK and EU Regulations governing electrical and radiological ownership and use, including IRR 1999. Single and dual view systems may be required. The complete system will be expected to operate reliably for a period of ten(10) years, during which time scanning operations could be undertaken up to sixteen ( 16) hours per day, seven(7) days per week. Baggage/parcel scanner mounted in a van The Authority requires single view x-ray scanners to scan baggage and parcels in pursuance of its remit to detect a range of illegal and controlled goods concealed within a wide variety of cargo. The system must be mounted on a standard commercial rigid self-powered vehicle platform, preferably with automatic transmission, and be capable of being driven throughout the UK without special permissions and in full compliance with all relevant UK and EU Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations. The system must also be in full compliance with all relevant UK and EU Regulations governing electrical and radiological ownership and use, including IRR 1999. The complete system will be expected to operate reliably for a period of ten (10) years, during which time scanning operations could be undertaken up to eight (8) hours per day, seven days per week. Baggage/parcel scanner The Authority requires a framework agreement for the supply & maintenance of x-ray scanners to scan mail/small baggage, standard baggage and large baggage/parcels in pursuance of its remit to detect a range of illegal and controlled goods concealed within a wide variety of personal effects and small cargo. Since space is invariably limited in port and airport control areas, it is likely that only single view systems will be required, however, options for dual view will be included. The System must be in full compliance with all relevant UK and EU Regulations governing electrical and radiological ownership and use, including IRR 1999. The complete system will be expected to operate reliably for a period of ten years, during which time scanning operations could be undertaken up to 8 hours per day, seven days per week.
