Supply of a Multifunctional Nanometrology Suite (Mensa) in 4 Lots for the University of Limerick

University of Limerick - The University of Limerick plans to purchase a Multifunctional Nanometrology Suite (Mensa) to be housed within the Bernal Institute. Mensa will incorporate four precision instruments to manipulate materials at the nanoscale. Funding has been provided by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) under the SFI Research Infrastructure Call 2015, with matching funds from the University of Limerick and industry. The four instruments are: 1. FIB-SEM: An integrated focused ion beam (FIB) instrument with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This will allow material to be extracted with in-situ imaging at very high resolution. 2. Atomic layer deposition (ALD): Thin film deposition instrument based on the sequential use of a gas phase chemical process. 3. Mask Aligner: Use to generate nano/micron sized patterns on a surface. 4. Ion-mill system: For high precision surface milling of materials.
