Tender description
The requirement is for Rental, Cleaning & Management of Laboratory Coats for NVRL, UCD. Laboratory coats form part of the basic essential personal protective equipment (PPE) in the NVRL and are worn in all laboratory areas to protect from chemical and biological hazards. They prevent contamination of personal clothing and can be rapidly removed in the event of a spill or similar incident. A Howie Coat Style with collar and cuffs is required due to the large flap across the front which can be quickly brought away from the body and face. Being cotton generally (with some specific exceptions), which are described in Appendix: 1 Requirements & Specifications. They are also naturally fire retardant and can withstand intensive cleaning cycles designed to inactivate infectious agents.
