Provision of pathology specimen courier transport managed services

Tender description

The provision is for a pathology specimen courier transport managed services for North West London Pathology. North West London Pathology (NWLP) is an arm’s length organisation hosted by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. NWLP provides Pathology services for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the surrounding Clinical Commissioning groups (CCGS). The formation of NWLP allows for economies of scale through the centralisation of services on a hub and spoke model. This should also facilitate an innovative approach to Specimen transport, with more frequent cost effective delivery of Specimens. The requirement is for courier service for the transport of Pathology specimens and GP consumables between 7 hospitals and a number of GP surgeries.The Service is for both routine and ad hoc requirements, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year unless stated as otherwise in the site specific schedules.
