PHE_Scientific - O2 Depletion Monitoring and Alarm for Labs with Nitrogen Supply

Oxygen depletion monitoring equipment is required for laboratories at PHE CRCE, Chilton, that are fitted with a supply of compressed nitrogen gas. PHE requires a system capable of measuring oxygen levels at different labs distributed around the main building of PHE Chilton. The equipment is required to trigger if the concentration of oxygen in any of these laboratories falls below an agreed safe limit, as prescribed by Health and Safety legislation. An audio-visual alarm is required at the site of low oxygen, sufficient to alert personnel in advance of entering its vicinity. The system must comply with all relevant health and safety procedures that are standard for areas with compressed nitrogen, and be sufficiently robust to cope with factors such as power-supply failure. Installation and testing of the system, and training of selected CRCE staff members in its correct use, is also expected, along with an ongoing maintenance contract.
