Tender description

The City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council invites tenders for the provision of the Wakefield Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) and Local Offer. Contract duration: 24 months (with the option to extend twice, each time for a period of up to 12 months subject to annual review of performance and availability of funding). Contract Period:1.4.2018 to 31.3.2020 (Maximum extension date 31.3.2022). A service provider is being sought to deliver the Wakefield Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) and Local Offer. Overview The Service will deliver 2 key elements; an Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS), which incorporates additional local support services, (Resilience and Independence Workshops, Early Support for Families on the Diagnostic Pathway for ASD / ADHD and Short Term Keyworking for Families Requiring Co-Ordinated Support); and the Local Offer. Aims The aim of the Service is to improve outcomes for parents / carers and children and young people aged 0-25 years who have, or may have, SEN or disabilities, by providing impartial, accurate and confidential information, advice and support that is flexible and tailored to individual needs. The Service is an essential part of the delivery of a strengthened, coordinated and integrated Early Help Offer to prevent and intervene at the earliest opportunity to tackle emerging needs.
