Tender description

Grinton East (Great) Bridge is a three-span masonry arch structure with masonry piers, wingwalls, solid spandrel walls and parapets. It carries the B6270 road over the River Swale at Grinton, 12km west of Richmond. In order to restore the condition of the bridge then the masonry needs to be cleared of vegetation and open joints re-pointed. Various areas areas of loose mortar need to be raked out and re-pointed. Access to the structure is difficult but it is thought that an underbridge unit will be an acceptable means of access or canteliver access rig.
