Tender description
The Kent County Council is undertaking a Soft Market Testing exercise to help determine the best solution for delivering countywide Short Breaks services for disabled children with ‘moderate’ level needs. Introduction The service will offer evening, weekend and school holiday day (and some overnight) community based activities for disabled children and young people with ‘moderate’ level needs aged 8+ years in full time education throughout the year. Some children may have needs which are above moderate in one domain, however in the majority of domains and specifically for the domains of mobility and personal care, they will be moderate or below. Please see overleaf the descriptors for levels of need by domain. The service can be provided from a range of premises, however these must be suitable for the children accessing the service and linked to universal services wherever possible. These may include for example, youth clubs, community leisure providers and village halls. The Council is seeking a contractor who can provide the below requirements: 1. Registered with OFSTED under Children’s home regulations to provide overnight short breaks for disabled children, or guaranteed to be able to complete registration by 1st April 2018. 2. Knowledge of and experience of, working with a range of ‘universal’ leisure and activity providers with whom the service would be delivered. Exercise Interested parties are requested to express your interest via the Kent Business Portal, www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk. Once you have expressed an interest then complete the Short Breaks Moderate Level RFI Questionnaire and submit via the Kent Business portal by 12 noon on Friday 6th October 2017. You can submit the questionnaire by selecting the ‘Start my response wizard’ button. Please refer to the attached ‘Kent Business Portal - Supplier Guidance’ for further assistance. Please note: We won't be accepting any forms via email only by the Kent Business portal. Keywords: shortbreaks, Disabled, Children
