Tender description

The Council is seeking a number of suppliers who are capable of supplying materials for the production of signs or, in some instances, can produce the signs from specifications provided by the Council. Further details are available from the documents published on the Councils e_tendering website YORtender (www.yortender.co.uk) under reference DN23508. The Council will require inks in the following 4 colours: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. All inks must be Roland manufacture and available in 440 ml drums. The Council operate a Roland Versacamm machine and will not accept non OEM products. In addition to the Inks the Council has a requirement for various types of sheet products for printing including Vinyls, Banner Materials and Paper. All Vinyls provided must be 5/7 Year Vinyl. The capability to provide purpose made sign blanks in either Dibond, Traffic Dibond or clear polycarbonate material in accordance with the specifications provided. Supplied blanks must be capable of fitting channels to the back with a flat riveting system. The successful contractor must also be able to provide boards and miscellaneous fixings: The capability to provide finished signs in accordance with the specifications provided. Traffic signs must be digitally printed on a Traffic Dibond material with HIP (High Intensity Prismatics) or VIP (Very Intense Prismatics) as required by the specification. Suppliers must be capable of providing engraved signs and ‘Tray’ signs. Where Traffic signs are ordered these must be CE marked, consequently only suppliers who have CE approval will be considered. Signs must have a 25 year UV guarantee. The capability to provide sign supports such as solid posts and boards for street names. These should be available in recycled black plastic materials. The posts should be Pyramid Tops. Aluminium supporting posts for signs should be available in Anodised finish in a range of sizes as detailed in the tender specification. A range of specialist fixings for signs are required on an ad hoc basis.
