Tender description

The Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham (BDR) Waste Partnership are undertaking a Market Consultation Exercise to provide advance notification and seek supply chain information prior to tendering for a short term Household Waste Recycling Centres management contract. This is not a call for tenders or a pre-qualification exercise. It is a market consultation exercise to open a dialogue with the supply chain. All expressions of Interest must be via the YorTender e-tendering portal, https://www.yortender.co.uk/ Ref: DN296805 As part of this market sounding exercise we will be holding an open day event in Wath upon Dearne on Tuesday 3.10.2017. This will be an open forum with the opportunity for potential tenderers to ask questions of the Procurement and Service teams. This event is free to attend but suppliers need to confirm their attendance in advance via the Yortender portal where you will be given specific time and location details. The current contract for the management of the 14 HWRCs expires in October 2018 and we are undertaking this Market Testing Exercise before commencing a formal procurement process. The Councils wish to procure a short term (3 years+ 1+1) HWRC Contract that puts emphasis on the waste hierarchy and prioritises the customer. The councils would be interested in proposals for efficiencies for example: - The prevention of trade waste abuse; - Trade waste charging; - A reduction on the existing network through limited site closure; - The introduction of reuse facilities/shops; - Improved recycling and composting performance; and - The reduction in residual waste requiring treatment and disposal (10 %).
