Enteral feeding is used as a temporary measure for when a patient is malnourished or at risk of malnutrition, or in some cases, a lifelong aid in the case of chronic disabilities. Enteral feeding is a way to provide food through a tube placed in the nose, the stomach, or the small intestine. These consumables include nasogastric and nasojejunal tubes, gastrostomy tubes, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), jejunostomy tubes and percutaneous endoscopic jejunostomy (PEJ). Other consumables such enteral syringes, medicine straws, PH indicator paper etc. are also used in enteral feeding.
