Mini Excavators will also be required with an operator to clear snow and ice as instructed. This typically extends to 7 or 8 snow days per year and 3 flood days per year, although as this is due to meteorological conditions, no guarantee can be given as to the extent of the works. The provision of HGV Drivers qualified to SVQ level 2 in winter maintenance or equivalent logistics training to support the Authority during periods of Snow and prolonged severe weather. This typically extends to 7 or 8 snow days per year and 3 flood days per year, although as this is due to meteorological conditions, no guarantee can be given as to the extent of the works. The provision of plant and vehicles suitable to support the Authority to provide a Winter Maintenance Service in line with its statutory duty under Section 34 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 during periods of Snow and prolonged severe weather. This typically extends to 7 or 8 snow days per year and 3 flood days per year, although as this is due to meteorological conditions, no guarantee can be given as to the extent of the works.
