Tender for Printed Materials for the Children's Summer Reading Programme 2017

Tender description

The national Summer Stars children’s reading programme will be delivered through 30 authorities during summer 2017. The programme focuses on the engagement of children in reading, the development of children’s reading skills and the involvement of families in events in their local library service. Summer Stars is a free programme, open to all children. Each child who registers for the programme at their local library will receive a reading card and stamps for each book read. Rewards in the form of children’s merchandise will be offered as children progress through the programme. Following award of tender, the supplier will receive the design files from the illustrator and will liaise directly with each of the authorities. Each authority will identify one contact person who will manage the local delivery of the programme including the ordering of merchandise. Contact details will be provided to the supplier by the LGMA. The supplier will distribute the order form, as supplied by the LGMA, to each authority’s contact person and respond directly on any queries relating to the items. Each authority will submit their order form with confirmed quantities directly to the supplier by the 27th of March. The item ‘drawstring bag’ will be offered to the authorities with the option of including personalised text for their authority. It should be possible for the full title of the library service to be included as this personalised text. The supplier will liaise directly with each authority ordering bags to confirm the text required and proof it with them. The font details for the standard text used on the Summer Stars illustrations will be provided to the supplier who will then create and add the text for each authority requiring it. Note that the personalised text will not be provided by the illustrator. The supplier will also liaise directly with each authority on the delivery of merchandise and on invoicing.
