Tender description

The London Borough of Hounslow is inviting tenders for the Collection and Sale of Recyclable Materials collected by source-separated collections from households. The council wishes to increase its recycling rate further by increasing the range of materials collected. It also wishes to reduce the carbon impact of its waste management operations by ensuring that high-carbon materials are reprocessed in a manner which is carbon efficient. The Council's waste and recycling provision is undergoing a period of change. At the end of this period residents will be provided with Boxes for the collection of separated recyclable materials (including food waste) — collected weekly; A chargeable brown wheeled bin service (for the collection of garden waste) — collected fortnightly; and, grey wheeled bins for residual waste — collected on alternate weeks. All of these bins are emptied by the Council's in-house waste collection service.
