Tender description
The APHA wish to tender for the provision of TSE rapid testing of fallen stock cattle, sheep and goats and healthy slaughter sheep and goats. The APHA has responsibility for the duties and function of the EU Reference laboratory for TSEs on behalf of the European Commission. APHA is also the National Reference Laboratory for TSEs. The appointment of National Reference Laboratories is a requirement placed on all European Union Member States by Commission Regulation (EC) No 999/2001. The UK National Reference Laboratory works closely with Defra, the Welsh Government and Scottish Government, the TSE EU Reference Laboratory and with private and public testing laboratories within the UK. The APHA wish to tender for the provision of TSE rapid testing of fallen stock cattle, sheep and goats, healthy slaughter sheep and goats. The purpose of this procurement exercise is to enable APHA to meet its requirement to provide TSE rapid testing in line with Annex III of Commission Regulation (EC) No 999/2001.
