Tender description

Construction of two steel portal frame storage buildings at Collyweston National Nature Reserve. Natural England is looking for the supply, delivery and erection of two agricultural storage buildings. Both of these buildings are to be enclosed on three sides, with an open frontage. All necessary ground works will also need to be undertaken and included in the total costs. The site The construction site is adjacent to an existing storage building and office which provides the work-base for 4 – 8 Natural England staff members and volunteers. The new buildings will be located within an existing secure compound Building dimensions a) 18 m long x 8 m span 3.5 m to eaves b) 10 m long x 3 m span and 3.5 m to eaves Materials for both buildings Steel portal frame construction with mono-pitch roof, pitched to match existing building. Fibre cement anti condensation roof with plastisol box profile side cladding similar to existing buildings. 450 mm concrete plinth securely attached to ground below cladding, to prevent vehicle damage to cladding. Existing tarmac and concrete hardstanding shall be made good and level with similar material where necessary, to provide final floor surface. Services Electrical supply shall be taken from existing supply to provide lighting to both buildings. Larger building (a) to include 4 x double sockets. Drainage Gutters at eaves, connected via downpipes and an inspection chamber which should connect into existing drains or new soak ways – to be agreed with the Project Officer On completion of the works all waste materials are to be removed from site and all the hard standing within the compound should be cleared and free from any debris. The existing fuel container should be re-located into one end of the larger building.
