Tender description
Hertfordshire County Council (the ‘Council’) is currently out to procurement for the provision of a Body Removal Service. Further information in regards to this opportunity can be found in II.2.4) Description of the procurement field (OJEU Contract Notice refers). Organisations wishing to take part in this project are invited to ‘express interest’ which will give access to the full procurement documents in the e-tendering system. Please see VI.3) Additional information for further information. Hertfordshire Coroner Service is required to provide investigative and administrative service to HM Coroners for the coronial area of Hertfordshire, in accordance with the Coroners and Justice Act 2009. The Coroner Service has a requirement for the provision of Body Removal Services and is seeking suitably qualified contractors to deliver this service. Contractors are required to remove the deceased from the place of death and other locations where the death may be referred to a Coroner and take them directly to a hospital mortuary or their premises unless otherwise directed by the police. Contractors may also be required to conduct the transfer of the deceased between hospitals. The estimated total value of the Contract is stated in II.1.5) of this notice and is for the initial term inclusive of the approximate value for extensions. For the avoidance of doubt, the estimated annual value of the Contract will be approximately 35 000 GBP. The Contract will be awarded for an initial term of five (5) years, with the option to extend the Contract up to two (2) further years. Please note that the contract requirements will be subject to available financial resources, supplier performance and flexibility to meet changing demands.
