The North West Police Underwater Search and Marine Unit provides maritime operational policing to the entire North West and North Wales coast. The existing police boat was involved in a collision. This has resulted in significant damage after it was hit by a much larger commercial vessel. The boat is now out of service. The maintenance of the police offshore operational capability must be reinstated as a matter of urgency. Twin Hulled Alloy Workboat suitable for coding to MCA Police Boat Code Standards. Twin engine with propellers (not jets); Capable of 20 plus knots; Cruising range of at least 200 nautical miles; Less than 35 ton but more than 12 ton; Length overall not exceed 15 metres; Beam not to exceed 6 metres; Accommodation and Working Deck space sufficient for 12 persons; Electronic navigation and radar system; HIAB lifting device; Rear A Frame for lifting / recovery options; Solar powered invertor system able to produce domestic supply, without generator.
