The Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) at Aberystwyth University is an internationally-recognised research and teaching centre providing a unique base for research in response to global challenges and has a core research platform in Industrial biotechnology. The institute is looking to expand its process development capability and increase its knowledge of microbial metabolism and fermentation. Recently it has received funding to purchase an automated bio-reactor system to further this area of research.
