Tender description
The Group is looking to procure and develop a partnership approach with waste management contractor(s) to deliver a successful and, compliant waste management programme across the Group promoting best practice and a value for money service. The provision of 2 waste transfer stations is required one in each of the core areas. The contract will be divided into 5 lots with one contractor to be awarded to each lot. Contractors can apply for one or multiple lots. Each lot will be evaluated separately for quality and price:- Lot 1 Access to Waste Transfer Station Facilities North Hartlepool/North West Stockton Lot 2 Access to Waste Transfer Station Facilities South Middlesbrough/South West Stockton Lot 3 General Waste and Mixed Recyclables Disposal Lot 4 Office Confidential Waste/Recycling Lot 5 WEEE. The contract needs to cover waste collection, supply and collection of skips, direct tip at waste disposal locations with the provision of controlled areas with multiple containers for Thirteen operatives to have the option to segregate and dispose of waste, or direct tip for provider to segregate. Same day collections, dumpy bags and any other benefit ways of disposing waste. We also need the provision to dispose of the following domestic fridges, upholstered furniture, mattresses, PC Monitors and TV's, car tyres, paint in tins, fluorescent tubes, smoke detectors and batteries. There will be occasions when we require Japanese Knotweed removed from sites also. There will be occasions when we require Japanese Knotweed removed from sites also. The service will consist of the collection, removal and disposal of all general waste materials. The Contractor will be required to collect and dispose of general waste in an appropriate secure and environmentally considerate manner; this is to be provided directly by the Contractor and not through a sub-contractor. In fulfilment of its statutory duty of care, Thirteen Group will require the Contractor to provide full information on the methods of disposal of waste, showing clear evidence of using disposal methods, which are environmentally considerate. The Contractor will be required throughout the Contract, to provide individual collections of waste, outside their normal collection and disposal routines. This Service will be made available to Thirteen Group during Normal Working Hours, and the Contractor shall ensure the provision of any ad hoc collections upon request. The Contractor will be required to ensure the secure collection, storage, removal and disposal of all confidential materials, as listed in so that at no time, these materials are out of the Contractors possession, or capable of being deciphered once disposed of. Confidential waste will need to be signed for by the nominated Contractor's staff at the point of collection, and the Contractor staff member shall further indicate on each disposal, that it has been adequately destroyed. All confidential waste is to be disposed of in line with current legislation. As part of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (WEEE), Thirteen Group have an obligation to recycle electrical equipment owned by the organisation; we therefore require a contract for the secure disposal of our Corporate WEEE.
