Tender description

It is an exciting time for mental health social care in Somerset and Somerset County Council (SCC) is inviting providers to this event so that they can find out more and discuss future ways of working. Over the last twelve months there have been significant changes in the way Somerset County Council (SCC) provides care and support for adults with mental health needs. This has included both changes within SCC in relation to mental health social work and the way that it commissions care and support services from the wider market. These changes are now starting to bring about a real shift in the way that individuals with mental health needs are being supported, with a re-focus on promoting independence, working towards recovery and building aspirations. Organisations are invited to attend this Provider Information Event in order receive information regarding: • The changes to date in mental health social care • The future direction and new ways of working • The use of the Learning Disability Open Framework (LDOF) in sourcing care and support packages for adults with mental health social care needs The event will cover a range of mental health services that SCC currently uses LDOF to source, which include Mental Health Daytime Support, Domiciliary Care and Supported Living. SCC will outline their intentions to use LDOF as the sole route for securing community care and support packages that would be subject to spot purchasing arrangements. Providers will be informed of any processes and procedures that will be needed in order to register and respond to requests for packages that are placed on LDOF and allow organisations the opportunity to ask questions. A full agenda will be available on registration for the event (see below for registration details). Due to the venue size, we ask that no more than two representatives attend from each organisation. Event Details Date: Wednesday 13th September 2017 Time: 9.00 – 10.30am Venue: Taunton (full venue details will be provided following registration) Event Registration: Please email sburridge@somerset.gov.uk by 12 noon on 7th September 2017 providing details of your company, name(s) of person(s) wishing to attend and contact email address, as well as any specific access requirements. If you are unable to attend the event the presentation(s) and information from the event will be available through the e-tendering system Pro-Contract. Keywords: mental health, framework, somerset
