Tender description

The purpose of this ‘Prior Information Notice’ (PIN), is to advise the market of an upcoming Procurement and engage with potential suppliers in the marketplace. In accordance with the Police Pensions Regulations, Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations and relevant advice and guidance there is a requirement for each Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) to have access to a Selected Medical Practitioner (SMP) and Independent Registered Medical Practitioner (IRMP). The SwPPD acting on behalf of Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Police Forces', will shortly be tendering for the provision of a comprehensive SMP/IRMP Service. The Forces' current collaborative contract for the provision of these services expires on 23.1.2018. This procurement is being administered by the Southwest Police Procurement Department (SwPPD). The SwPPD is hosted and managed by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall. It administers most of the procurements for goods, services and works undertaken by the respective Forces of Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. In accordance with the Police Pensions Regulations, Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations and relevant advice and guidance there is a requirement for each Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) to have access to a Selected Medical Practitioner (SMP) and Independent Registered Medical Practitioner (IRMP). In preparation for this forthcoming procurement, we would like to receive expressions of interest from any existing providers of these services, who may be interested in providing this service in the future. The purpose of this early market engagement is to advise the market of our intentions and encourage feedback from the market so we can understand how this service is currently provided to other similar organisation's together with hearing about providers' experiences of good practice in this service area. As this service provision is one of the services to which the Light-Touch Regime applies (as set out in Schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015), a Contracts Notice will not be published. Instead this tender opportunity will be published on the Bluelight e-tendering portal provided by EU Supply (https://bluelight.eu-supply.com/). Supplier Registration is easy and free — just click ‘Register Company’ in the Supplier's Area on the left. Once registered, you will need to login to the Bluelight EU Supply system to participate in active tender/quotation opportunities. It is anticipated that this tender opportunity will be advertised during week commencing 2.10.2017.
