HealthTrust Europe (HTE) is seeking to establish a framework agreement for the provision of supplies utilised by Surgical Staff in Theatre's for the purpose of preparing and cleansing the skin prior to surgery and to reduce the risk of the patient contracting a surgical site infection. The supplies are likely to be categorised into the following LOTs. — Anti-microbial solutions — Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Povidone Iodine — Pre-operative Surgical Hair Clippers — Surgical Skin Marker Pens — Single Use Surgical Scrub Brushes Please refer to section VI.3 of this document further information regarding supplier engagement and expressions of interest. The scope of this Lot is likely to include the following: — 2 % Chlorhexidine Gluconate in 70 % Alcohol sponge applicator, — 4 % Chlorhexidine Gluconate in 70 % Alcohol sponge applicator, — 10 % Povidone Iodine in Alcohol solution sponge applicator, — 2 % Chlorhexidine Gluconate in Alcohol solution, — 10 % Povidone Iodine in Alcohol solution, — Povidone Iodine Hand Scrub Solution, — Chlorhexidine Gluconate Hand Scrub Solution. This Lot includes scope for the provision of surgical clippers and disposable clipper heads. The supplies shall to be utilised by Ward or Theatre staff, in order to remove body hair, prior to surgery. The purpose of these supplies will be to reduces potential abrasions to the skin of a patient which in turn shall reduce the risk of surgical site infection. This Lot includes scope for the provision of single use, disposable surgical skin marker pens. The supplies are to be utilised by Theatre staff, in order to precisely mark the skin of a patient prior to and during surgery. The purpose of these supplies will be to, as a minimum, ensure surgery is carried out on the correct site and to ensure natural realignment of skin flaps during wound closure. The supplies should have accompanying flexible rulers and labels. This Lot includes scope for the provision of single use, disposable surgical scrub brushes. The supplies are to be utilised by Theatre staff, to ensure optimal pre-operative hygiene for hands, knuckles, nails and wrists and reduce the risk of surgical site infection in patients. The brushes may be supplied as they are or Impregnated with Chrlorhexidine or Povidone-Iodine solutions.
