Tender description

Helse Bergen HF would like a sample preparation robot for use in the Laboratory for Clinical Biochemistry, Section for Doctor and Drugs and Alcohol Analyses. Helse Bergen HF, hereafter called the Contracting Authority, would like a sample preparation robot for use in the Laboratory for Clinical Biochemistry, Section for Doctor and Drugs and Alcohol Analyses, hereafter called the Section. The robot shall be used for routine sample preparation for the Section's analytical methods with simultaneous generation of work lists for the analysis instruments, as well as for sorting incoming samples against lists of expected samples from the laboratory's information system. The Section has 5 analytical methods on LC-MS/MS for medicine analyses in serum and plans five analytical methods on LC-MS/MS for drugs and alcohol analyses in urine. In addition, the Section is working to implement an analytical method on LC-MS/MS for EDTA-blood. Samples for one to three of five serum methods and all five urine methods will be prepared daily, whilst samples for the EDTA-blood method will be prepared twice a week. The maximum number of samples will give two full 96 well-sheets from test tubes per method. A detailed description of the robot methods that shall be run is given in PART II Annex 3 Robot Methods. The Section currently has one Hamilton STARLet robot for sample preparation. The Section would like a new extra robot for increased throughput and better resilience. It is important that the new robot works quickly, accurately, precisely and has simple and intuitive user interface. The new robot will routinely be used for one set of robot methods, whilst the Section's existing robot will be used for another set of robot methods. However, allowances must be made for planned and unforeseen down-time for the Section's existing robot and the new robot must, thus, be able to handle all the Section's robot methods. The Contracting Authority would like tenders that include: — A sample preparation robot with the accompanying PC and suitable software. — A table for, or legs on, the robot, which will place it at a suitable height for standing work. — A method for sorting received samples, as specified in Part 2 Annex 2A — Robot Methods. — A method for sample preparation of EDTA-blood samples, as specified in Part 2 Annex 2A — Robot Methods. — Short delivery time at the latest 6 months after the order is placed. The robot system, including robot methods, shall be completely delivered, assembled and tested from the tenderer's side and super-users shall have been trained by the delivery deadline.
