Tender description

Procurement of a modular Automated Molecular Testing System capable of determining the fetal RHD type through the analysis of cffDNA in maternal plasma. This public procurement competition (‘Competition’) will be a Single Supplier Framework with the following Blood Establishments Participating Authorities. NHS Blood and Transplant, 500 North Bristol Park/North Way, Filton, Bristol, BS34 7QH. Welsh Blood Service, Ely Valley Road, Talbot Green, Pontyclun, CF72 9WB. The IBTS will be acting on behalf of the Participating Authorities to run and administer this tender. A Single Supplier will then be appointed to the Framework. Participating Authorities may then avail of the Framework. Prior to award of contract by any of the BEs to the Supplier appointed to the Framework BEs will validate the system and consumables. Final award will be dependent on successful validation of the system in the hands of each individual BE. The test will be performed using a quantitative polymerase chain reaction based assay. The System will be capable of extracting total cfDNA from maternal plasma, qPCR setup, qPCR amplification/detection and result analysis.
