17 146 CONTRACT FOR THE PROVISION OF HURDSFIELD DISTRICT HEATING MAPPING AND MASTERPLANNING STUDY

Tender description

As part of its focus on jobs related growth and using it powers and its responsibility for improving the lives of the residents of Cheshire East, the Council has begun to explore a wide range of renewable energy opportunities to ensure the sustainability of the borough and make Cheshire East a more attractive place for residents, businesses and investors. As part of an energy review of public sector owned assets by Cheshire East Major Projects team in January 2015, Macclesfield was identified as having potential for a heat network as it has a compact configuration of public sector owned buildings in the Old Market Quarter area in close proximity to other significant heat loads. Cheshire East Borough Council (CEC) wish to commission a Hurdsfield District Heating Mapping and Masterplanning Study (HDHMMS). The aim of this commission is to map heat demand to provide the basis for identifying potential cluster areas for decentralised energy in Hurdsfield and its potential expansion/connection to the Macclesfield Town Centre cluster.
