Repair and maintenance services of firefighting equipment

Tender description

The University of Birmingham (referred to as the ‘Employer’ for the purposes of consistency) wishes to enter into a long-term contract (the ‘Contract’) for the provision of fire equipment maintenance and associated services which will ensure that the relevant equipment is maintained and repaired to the highest quality standards. The contractor may also be required to provide Fire warden training and fire risk assessments for University of Birmingham buildings. The inspection, testing, maintenance and replacement of a range of approximately 7 500 fire extinguishers and blankets located at various sites within the University of Birmingham as listed in Appendix A. The inspection, testing, maintenance and replacement will consist of the recommendations in BS 5306 part 3 and manufacturer's recommendations. Fire warden training for University staff as and when required. Fire risk assessments for University buildings as and when required.
