Reissue Charter Mackerel Egg Survey

Tender description

The Marine Institute, a semi State body, wishes to invite tenders for the supply of a commercial fishing vessel to conduct a Mackerel egg survey in ICES divisions IVa, Va, Vb, VIa, VIb, XIIa and XIIb, (Hatton bank, south of Iceland, Faroes / Shetland channel), in May / June 2017. The maximum cost of the survey will be capped at €205,000 and will be funded based on an allocation of additional mackerel quota, up to a maximum of 214 tonnes, based on a price of €956 / tonne of mackerel. All tenders in excess of this will be eliminated. The final additional quota to be allocated to the successful vessel will be calculated at the end of the contract and will be verified using sales notes. The quota will have to be used before the end of 2017. The successful applicant will be selected based on technical suitability, experience in the area, previous experience in scientific research and surveys, as well as cost.
