Tender description

The requested equipment is a Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) system Type KCE®-FCT HP D 10-SD, details of which can be found in Appendix 1. SPS technology offers rapid consolidation of a wide range of powders from all fields of materials; ceramic, metallic and carbon materials enabling significantly improved or even completely novel materials. Spark Plasma Sintering is a new technology for consolidation of various powdered raw materials by using uniaxial pressing force and heating by direct current supply (DC impulses). The whole process can be run under vacuum as well as under inert atmosphere (N2, Ar, He, H2). The concept of this FAST (heating rates go up to 600°Cmin-1 ) equipment was designed to meet the special requirements for the production of metal and ceramic materials but also for composites, functionally graded materials (FGMs), hard metals and especially ‘nanostructured materials’ up to temperatures of 2400°C.
