Tender description

The London Borough of Hounslow will be going out to tender this Autumn for an integrated community drug and alcohol treatment and recovery service. This contract will include both adult and young people's services, though the young people's provision will have a separate identity and a significant prevention focus, operating largely on an outreach basis. The adult service will encompass all community tier two and three modalities (including prescribing, community detoxification, psychosocial interventions, group programmes and recovery interventions) as well as responsibility for the pharmacy needle exchange and supervised consumption schemes and inpatient alcohol detoxification placements (though not residential rehabilitation which will be funded separately). It is a possibility that a building for the adult service will not be secured by the Commissioners and therefore the tender may include a requirement for the provider to secure the use of suitable premises. In this scenario, the total budget for both premises and service provision would be 2 200 000 GBP per annum. Qu: As a potential provider, do you feel the option of sourcing and securing a building is viable? Qu: If so, do feel this is something you may be able to provide within the budget envelope? Those who feel this is potentially a service they could provide in such a scenario may be invited to a workshop on September the 6th to discuss the proposal in further detail.
