Tender description

This is a prior information notice (PIN) only: Publication and call for competition will be conducted once scope of work is fully defined and approved. This programme will address barriers to social and economic empowerment of adolescent girls, including a focus on social norms and behavioural change. It will take an issue-based approach and tackle barriers found across DFID DRC programmes, for example around early marriage, domestic violence, and family planning. The new women and girls programme will be closely linked with the DFID DRC provincial strategy. DFID DRC is in the process of developing a business case for adolescent girls in the DRC. This new programme will build on learning from DFID DRC's current programme for adolescent girls, La Pepiniere. The programme is at early stages of development and has not yet been approved for funding. If approved, the procurement for the programme will be launched towards the end of 2017. Contracting and programme implementation is anticipated to start in the first half of 2018. DFID DRC is planning to hold an event in Kinshasa in early September 2017 to share information with organisations who are interested to learn more about the programme and to share comments on initial ideas emerging.
