Vehicle Recovery Breakdown Service

Tender description

The length of contract shall be for the period of four years commencing from September 2017 to August 2021 which will be called off direct by Client Departments/ Establishments as and when required. St Helens Council is inviting potential contractors to provide rates for a pay as you go arrangement for supply of vehicle recovery, collection & delivery services only. The Council has a diverse fleet of approximately 180 vehicles ranging from cars to 26,000 kg refuse collection vehicles, coach built adapted buses to tractors and many more. The vast majority of journeys (99%) are conducted within the borough but could be to anywhere within England, Scotland or Wales potential providers must be able to transport all fleet aspects of this diverse fleet including passengers 365(6) days per year at all times. Normal working hours for the majority of the fleet are Monday – Friday 6.00 –18.00hrs although due to nature of the various services some weekend and bank holiday is undertaken. A recent breakdown of the fleet is provided with the tender documentation. The vast majority of vehicle recoveries will need to be brought back to Hardshaw Brook Depot WA9 1JR, the depot open 24hours 365(6) days per year and access arrangements both during and outside working hours is via the depot security barrier. On occasions we may request a vehicle to be taken directly to a main dealer if this is the case contact & location details will be given. ALL CLARIFICATION QUESTIONS ARE TO BE VIA THE CHEST PORTAL.
