Repair and maintenance services of locomotive wheelsets

Network Rail are seeking the provision of services to overhaul and assemble both driven and non-driven rail vehicle wheelsets for the Network Rail fleet of rail vehicles which includes all work required to return the wheelset to an operational condition. The scope of this requirement also includes the supply of components where they are to be supplied following a condition assessment. We would like to discuss with interested parties in relation to the following procurement options: 1. Overhaul of wheelsets at the supplier's premises 2. Overhaul of wheelsets at Network Rail's Holgate Depot in York Interested parties are requested to respond to this notice by 15:00 on Wednesday 30.8.2017 and shall be invited to attend workshops for discussions around possible solutions for these requirements. Network Rail reserves the right to tender on the basis of either, neither or both options as stated above. Network Rail is pursuing interest from parties for the overhaul and assembly of both driven and non-driven rail vehicle wheelsets. We are seeking the provision of services to overhaul and assemble wheelsets for the Network Rail fleet of rail vehicles which includes all work required to return the wheelset to an operational condition. The services required may include the following activities: — Disassembly, stripping and shotblasting — Inspection and gauging of components — Non-Destructive Testing (including; UAT, MPI) — Machining services; Axle reclamation, wheel hub boring and ad-hoc services to support overhauls — Overhaul of axle mounted components, axle bearings and axleboxes — Supply of components as required to renew components which fail inspection, testing or overhaul — Re-assembly of wheelsets — Assembly of new wheelsets — Painting of wheelsets and components; — Tyre turning — Packaging of wheelsets for delivery As well as undertaking the services to return the wheelset to operational condition the scope of this requirement also includes the supply of the following components where they are required to be replaced following a condition assessment: — Axles — Wheel pans — Wheel centre, Gibson rings and tyres — Axle mounted components — Suspension tubes and crown wheels — Axle mounted gearboxes and final drives — Axle bearings — Axleboxes The following is an indicative, but not exhaustive, list of wheelset types for which overhaul and assembly will be required: AMIII BT21 BT42 BT45 Class 47 GPS25 Matisa Various MK 6 Plasser Various Sambre Meuse drive non-standard axle Y type TF25 VNH1 MPV Various Y25 (920) P5 profile 90T Y25 (920) P10 profile Y27 Y33 (720) Y33 (813) Y33 (840) We would like to discuss with interested parties in relation to the following procurement options: 1.
